2026 General Municipal Election

Listed below, are the names of registered candidates received as of 12:00 noon, September 18, 2026.

Candidates nomination papers are required to disclose any offences that they have plead guilty to, or been found guilty of, under the Criminal Code (Canada), the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Canada), the Income Tax Act (Canada), or The Income Tax Act of Manitoba.  These disclosures must be published on the local authority's website by the Senior Election Official.

Candidates are not required to disclose an offence under the Youth Criminal Just Act (Canada), the Young Offenders Act (Canada), or an offence for which they were granted a pardon under section 748 of the Criminal Code (Canada).

Accordingly, please be advised of the following candidate disclosures for the 2026 Municipal General Election in the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the following days:

SEPTEMBER 16^TH, 17^TH, 18^TH, 21^ST and 22^ND, 2026

between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne Municipal Office, 215 Broadway Street, Treherne, Manitoba, I will receive nominations for the offices of:

COUNCILLORS – WARD 1 (2 to be elected)

COUNCILLORS – WARD 2 (2 to be elected)

COUNCILLORS – WARD 3 (2 to be elected)

REEVE – AT LARGE            (1 to be elected)

The nomination deadline is September 22^nd, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.  Nominations cannot be accepted prior to the 16^th of September, 2026 or after the 22^nd of September, 2026.

All nominations shall state the ward the candidate is running in (if applicable), shall be made in writing and shall be signed by not less than 1% of the voters for that ward.  The required number of signatures is stated on the nomination papers. Each nomination shall also be accompanied by the candidate’s declaration of qualification.

Nominations may be filed in person or by an official agent at the above location, by email or fax, on the date and hours specified.  To obtain a nomination paper, and/or candidate’s declaration of qualification, contact the SEO at the telephone number listed below.

Any one filing nomination papers must be a registered candidate.  Registration forms are available at the Municipal Office.  Nomination papers for unregistered candidates will not be accepted and nominations not properly filed will be rejected.
